BFBC2 Vietnam add-on to be $15

Written by David Stellmack

Release date still not confirmed yet
DICE is still working hard on the Vietnam Expansion Pack add-on for Battlefield Bad Company 2; and finally, we have some additional specifics to pass along as to what we know so far.

We can at last confirm that it will be available for all three platforms that BFBC2 was released for. This means that it is confirmed for release on the PC, which is something that seemed to have been up in the air when the news of the add-on coming first broke. Whispers we hear suggest that a PC release was always DICE’s attention given the past history of the Battlefield Vietnam title on the PC.

The Vietnam Expansion Pack, or add-on if you will, offers four unique maps with a total of 15 weapons, along with vehicles ranging from tanks to huey copters to patrol boats. A total of 10 new achievements/Trophies will be part of the package and the scores that you get while playing the game will go toward your overall level up progress in BFBC2.

Unique dialogue will be part of the game with new voiceovers created just for the Expansion Pack. As with the original Battlefield Vietnam on the PC, the game will offer a number of licensed period music choices that players can tune into using the radios within the vehicles in the game.

What we still don’t know is exactly when it will be released. Beyond telling those players waiting for it that it is still slated to arrive this holiday season, we still don’t known exactly when it will drop. We do know that when it does arrive it is going to cost $15 or 1,200 Microsoft Points, and it will be offered as a download only with no disc release planned at this time.
