NFS Shift 2 to arrive next year

Written by David Stellmack

Early part of 2011 selected for release
With Sony saying that Gran Turismo 5 will finally arrive for the PlayStation 3 in November of this year, other publishers are already looking to avoid a potential clash with the EA release Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, as well as the expected slow sales due to the GT5 release.

Electronic Arts is now confirming that Need for Speed: Shift 2 will be released at some point between the first of 2011 and the end of March. The first Shift title was quite successful and sported a good mix of game play and driving elements to deliver a very good first outing.

Little is actually known about Shift 2 at this point, as it was one of the titles that EA did not show off at the recent E3 show just a few months ago. It is expected (according to our sources) that EA will start showing more about the upcoming release of Shift 2 over the next couple of months prior to release. Shift 2 will be available for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC platforms when it arrives.
