Toews gets NHL 11 cover

Written by David Stellmack

Blackhawks snag cover two years in a row

Sources tell us that the Chicago Blackhawks will snag the cover of EA Sports NHL franchise for a second year in a row. This year, the cover of NHL 11 will be graced with none other than Jonathan Toews.

The news that the cover athlete had already been selected might come as a surprise to some, as EA waited until a little closer to the release of the title before making an announcement. This year, however, it would appear that the news has leaked out early, maybe in hopes of capitalizing on some of the publicity surrounding the recent win of the Stanley Cup by the Blackhawks.

The cover shot apparently pictures Toews in the Blackhawks throwback jersey, which will make it different from the cover that teammate Patrick Kane did last year for NHL 10. While EA isn’t confirming that Toews has been officially selected, our sources confirm to us that this is the case.
