According to sources, when Mass Effect is released BioWare will already have downloadable content available for the game on launch day. While we don’t know the actual content that will be in this downloadable content, we do know that you will be able to download it at no charge.

What we are not exactly sure of is if the downloadable content will only be free on launch day or if it will continue to be free. While our sources continue to tell us that BioWare is planning a lot of downloadable content for the game, it is still unclear what the plan is for both release and sale of the content. With the news that at least some of the DLC might be free, even if it is free only on launch day or launch week, it still does add extra value for those planning to purchase the title.

From the whispers that we hear, BioWare will make things more clear on the free DLC for Mass Effect 2 at some point next week before title arrives. We will bring you the scoop, once we have it.
