BioWare is targeting this as the release time frame

The excitement continues to build for the release of Star Wars: The Old Republic, but those hopeful for a release this year are going to be a bit disappointed. BioWare has confirmed that the company is targeting a release timeframe in spring 2011 for the game’s arrival.

The good news, if there is any, is that they are still accepting signups for those that are interested in testing SWTOR at http://www.swtor.com/tester . While it is unknown when this testing will take place, it will likely be toward the end of the summer from what we are hearing. So while you will not be able to play the actual released game, you might at least be able to make your way into the beta test.

The news that SWTOR will not be out the door this year has to be a bit of a disappointment to publisher Electronic Arts who was likely hopeful that the game might have had the chance to be released this year. BioWare claims that they have a lot more to reveal about SWTOR, but we will have to stay tuned to see what else they might have up their sleeve.
