Exodus of all things cute

It has
been reported that nothing winds people down as a nice little animal-massacre after a hard day's work. Well not really but as of yesterday, aspiring young and old serial killers, critics, professional skeptics, and haters of everything cute can indulge in what's probably their favorite past time anyway – mutilating cute animals in the latest iPhone/Touch game Happy Tree Friends: Slap Happy.

Happy Tree Friends: Slap Happy follows the original story of general exodus of all-things cute by placing you in control of your cuddly little pet. The gameplay is described as teasing and playing with your furry friend, but users are advised to keep their"little pal safe and out of harm's way because you never know when crazy things are bound to happen!".

While we're on the subject of crazy, note that Apple has banned much less offensive applications in the past whereas Happy Tree Friends somehow got the green light. Furthermore, while the removal of some apps from the App Store usually carried some sort of reasoning behind it, this time we were simply left puzzled and wondering at Apple's criteria. Shaking babies is not right, pornographic content is harmful but killing and abusing cute cuddly animals is apparently perfectly fine for Jobs' mob. And besides, it's just $0.99.
