Redemption from VGA awards snub

After being royally rebuffed at the Spike Video Game Awards, Infinity Ward received redemption by cleaning Naughty Dog's clock at the first annual Inside Gaming Awards.

This time around, the awards went to Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and not to Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, which was the big winner at the VGA awards. COD MW2 was able to rack up six awards in total at the Inside Gaming Awards, with Uncharted 2 only managing to score two awards.

The highlight of these awards was that the coveted top spot of Game of the Year award went to COD MW2 this time around. What is perhaps more interesting is that the results were quite different from the VGA winners.

Our take on this is that it shows what a difference there is in opinion as to which game is the winner and which one is better overall. Our congratulations go out to Infinity Ward; and while it likely does not make up for the VGA awards, it does show that (in our opinion, at least) the Inside Gaming Awards seems to have gotten it right.
