6.6 million collective hours of play since release

Turn 10 studios, along with publisher Microsoft, have let it be known that Forza 3 has surpassed the 1 million copies sold mark since release. While it took a month for this racing game to cross the over the 1 million sold mark, the numbers are impressive for a racing title. Normally, racing titles are a bit more of a niche game that sells at a bit of a slower rate than many other releases.

What is a bit more impressive are some of the stats that were also announced. Over 6.6 million collective hours of game play have taken place since the title was released in North America on October 27th and in Europe on October 32rd. These 6.6 million collective hours translates to over 64 million racing sessions, which is pretty incredible if you think about it for just over a million players.

While the sales numbers for Forza 3 are good news, Turn 10 isn't resting, as they are about ready to drop the holiday car pack that we have already recently told you about. The new holiday car pack, which will arrive next week, adds an additional 10 cars for 400 Microsoft Points.

This will not be the last of the download content, either, as our sources tell us that Turn 10 already has a second car pack in the pipeline for release early next year, which will be timed for release during the North American Auto Show. The whispers that we hear seem to indicate that it will feature at least another 10 cars, along with a surprise or two. It is likely it will also be dropped at 400 Microsoft Points when it becomes available.
