Microsoft has announced that five new titles have been added to the company’s Platinum Hits series. Over 60 titles have generated enough sales on the Xbox 360 platform that they have earned a place in the Platinum Hits collection.

The new titles to be added to the collection include Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Left 4 Dead, Grand Theft Auto IV, Saints Row 2 and Streetfighter IV. The Platinum Hits collection starts with prices as low as $19.99 and include a variety of hits that offer an attractive price point for gamers to pick up.

In addition to the five new titles being added, Microsoft also announced that they will be running a buy 2; get one free promotion on Platinum Hits titles that will run through the end of October. While more details on the promotion are available at your local retailer, from our understanding all Platinum Hits titles are eligible for this promotion, including the five new titles that were just added as of today. From what we have been able to uncover, it does not appear that the buy 2, get 1 free Platinum Hits promotion is a mail-in offer; this means you get your free title at the time of purchase, which is a great way to get a little shopping done early for the holiday season.
