Make and sell your tracks on Xbox 360

Well, we can't say we've seen this coming, but Harmonix seems to be keen on involving their customers even further as the company announced that users will soon be able to create and sell their own Rock Band 2 tracks on Xbox 360.

You'll have to have a copy of the game of course, XNA Creators Club Premium which is $99 a year, Reaper and Magma programs and an Xbox Live Gold account. Of course, the tracks will have to ”click“ with Harmonix and the MIDI elements will have to be taken care of as well before they're even submitted, but your chance to Rock Band stardom is still there.

Although this is still an Xbox 360-exclusive feature, the “stand out tracks” will allegedly find their way to PS3 and Wii so if you’re lucky, talented or both, the tracks will be sold to public with royalties included, where you’ll be getting 70% of sales. August will see closed testing, whereas the launch should be done with by the end of the year.

You can find out more details on Harmonix’s website here.
