After all of the wait, PC players could be snubbed

When Alan Wake was shown again at E3 this year for the Xbox 360 by Microsoft, it seemed that Alan Wake was starting to become more and more like vaporware; but it now seems that it is more likely than ever that the title may finally see the light of day for the Xbox 360 in 2010.

What might not see the light of day, however, is the originally planned PC version of Alan Wake. Developer Remedy is now claiming that they are exclusively working on the Xbox 360 version of Alan Wake, and the originally promised simultaneous launch for both the Xbox 360 version and the PC version is no longer the plan.

Remedy is now claiming that it will be up to Microsoft if a PC version of Alan Wake is ever released, and this PC version might see the light of day. Remedy is confirming, however, that they do want to do a PC version of the game, as they have a rich history developing titles on the PC.

While there has been no official word yet from Microsoft and the title is still being shown as TBA on the Games for Windows site, we suspect that once the Xbox 360 version is released and depending on how well it does, will have a lot of input on the decision if Microsoft will continue the plan for a release of the PC version of the game.

Given the fact that PC gamers have been waiting for Alan Wake for just as long as Xbox 360 players and the title has been hyped for a long time now to both market segments, it would really be a shame to see the PC version canceled. We will have to just wait and see how this plays out, but don’t expect Microsoft to tip their hand on if the PC version will be canceled until the Xbox 360 version is released.
