New Eidos
studio in Montreal to handle development

Yes, the rumors are finally confirmed! Deus Ex 3 is finally started as a product in Eidos' new studio in Montreal where this will be the primary project. Ubisoft acquired the rights to the Deus Ex franchise quite some time ago, but they have been quiet about the future plans of the franchise until now.

The new Eidos Montreal studio will employ 100 people by the end of the year and will be ramping up to as many as 350 by 2009. Ubisoft Montreal will be hard at work on the development of Deus Ex 3 for both the PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 platforms. Deus Ex has had quite a following and fans have wanted a new game to add to the franchise for a long time, and now finally it will be a reality.

Eidos gave no hint as to when we should expect the release of Deus Ex 3, but it is safe to assume that fans will have some waiting to do. In the meantime you can have a look at the brief teaser which is making the rounds.
