God of War III to be released in March 2010

Software was a big topic, of course, at the Sony press conference. After the announcement about Metal Gear on the Xbox 360, many were abuzz about the possibility of the PlayStation 3 not getting it, as well. From what we hear from our sources, this is not the case. The PlayStation 3 will be getting a new Metal Gear title as well as the Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker for the PSP.

The PlayStation 3 will also be the exclusive home for Final Fantasy XIV when it launches in 2010. While it will be exclusive to the PlayStation 3, a PC version will also be released. So, the exclusive is just a console platform exclusive. Final Fantasy XIII is still on track for release this year on both the PlayStation 3 as well as the Xbox 360.

The much awaited God of War III was said to be on track for release this year. From what we know now, that meant this fiscal year, so March 2010 will see the release of God of War III on the PlayStation 3. While many were hopeful for an end of the year release, it just isn’t to be.

When Grand Turismo PSP was announced back in 2004, who knew that it would take till 2009 for it to arrive on the PSP? Arrive it will, in October, with 60 frames per second of incredible racing action. It is for real this time; and the news was dropped by series creator Kaz Yamauchi, who said the PSP version will offer 35 tracks and 800 cars. A demo version is playable in the Sony booth on the floor at E3.

After the software, Sony spoke about their two-piece motion controller technology that was in development. When comparing it to the Microsoft offering it is clear that the Sony offering is more of an evolution of the waggle controller patent that the company already has. The demo, when compared to the Microsoft offering, just was not that compelling; but it does seem to be on track for a release in the spring of next year.
