Activision sees a real opportunity for the title

Normally grandiose talk is coming prior to the Blur title being released, and it seems that it is in abundance at the moment from Activision regarding the upcoming racing title from developer, Bizarre Creations.

From the whispers we hear, Activision is calling the a $1.5 billion title in the racing genre a blessing as it has presented the company with a unique opportunity to work with Bizarre Creations.

The high hopes for Blur have to do more with Bizarre Creations’ success with the Project Gotham Racing series that Activision hopes will also equal success for them. However, Blur is not without its challenges with the news that Pure developer Black Rock Studios is hard at work on a new racing title that we told you about previously called Split Second for Disney Interactive; it is expected to arrive in the same time frame that Blur is expected to be released.

It is expected that we will hear more about both Blur and Split Second next month at E3 in Los Angeles, and we should have a better feel for where both games are going and who might be able to come out on top. Initially, it is thought that despite the many awards that Pure received Disney did not put as much effort as they could have into marketing a title of this type; this would appear to give Activision a big advantage with Blur as they have more experience in marketing games of this type.
