Ubisoft has announced that a new chapter in the Ghost Recon saga is in development, but gamers hoping to see it released this year will be disappointed to find out that the game isn’t on the release schedule till 2010.

The new game does not yet have an official title, so at this point it is just being referred to as Ghost Recon 4. The game, which carries the Tom Clancy branding, will be the fifth game in the franchise if you don’t count the expansion packs as well as the Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter titles.

While no release date or additional info was spilled yet about the actual content to be included in the next chapter of the franchise, our sources tell us that Ghost Recon 4 will follow the key elements that have made previous releases in the Ghost Recon series successful.
