If you're planning a trip to Japan and you don't mind the regional coding of some Xbox 360 titles, then it might be a good thing to pick up a console there; starting next month, the Core version will drop to less than €170.
The Premium model with a 20GB hard drive will also drop in price, and will cost around €212. It will be available as a value pack with Forza Motorsport 2 and Viva Pinata 2.
Considering that the Core is about €290 in Europe with the Premium version coming in at around €340, one has to wonder why the Xbox 360 is so much more expensive in Europe. We're aware that Japan is a difficult market for Microsoft, but with a price difference of over €100, it seems that the price difference in Europe is not easily explained.
This makes Japan the least expensive place to buy an Xbox 360, as it's even cheaper there than in the U.S.
