ATI /AMD?s VP goes Nvidia

Phil Eisler goes green

A top AMD executive whom we met many years ago has decided to defect to Nvidia. His name is Phil Eisler and he use to work as Senior Vice President and General Manager, Chipset and Notebook Business Unit.

Phil was working on this position since 2001 and he helped ATI to turn around its chipset business even though they lost quite a lot of market share in mobile, something that the company is slowly gaining back this year.

Phil has no compete agreement with AMD and won’t be officially working as the chipset vice president of company, he will probably get some other title but all in all, it looks that he might be positioned above Drew Henry, current general manager for the chipset business.

One of the confirmation is that his corporate webpage at AMD has been deleted and you can check it here. We also asked Nvidia for an official comment.
