Computex 08: 1.3 W worst case or...

Nvidia has just launched its fourth brand called Tegra. That is what we know as an APX 2500 sort of mobile CPU-GPU, and this platform can play 720P video with 600miliwats.

Tegra is a 144 square mm chip that can cope with 1080P video decoding and from the graphics side, it is powered by high performance go force GPU.

It was funny when the engineer claimed up to 1W for the total system that was cool enough, but then the Director of the Mobile Division said 1.3W. The number kept growing, but it is still way better than Atom, as Atom needs a chipset and it still sucks with HD playback.

With OLED displays this chipset might just have a chance.
