Havendale likely to have different IGP SKUs

Two different TDPs

It looks like Intel is working on two different IGP solutions for its Havendale processors, as there will be 93W and 75W TDP versions of this upcoming CPU. It makes sense, as Intel currently has several different IGP chipsets and we don't see why the company wouldn't do the same when it moves the GPU from the chipset to the CPU.

We don't have a lot of details at this moment in time, but we'll try to dig a little deeper and see what we can find out. However, as the quad-core Lynnfield CPU has a TDP of 95W and Havendale is only a dual-core CPU, we're fairly sure that we'll see at least two different graphics solutions built into these processors.

One interesting thing that we had missed is that the Lynnfield and Havendale CPUs will communicate internally via a QPI interface, so the CPU cores will rely on QPI for communication with the memory controller, PCIe controller and in the case of the Havendale, the IGP.

Hopefully, Intel will shed some more light on these CPUs during IDF in San Francisco later this month, as there are still a lot of unanswered questions. However, Intel might want to hold off talking too much about these processors, as right now the company is going to want to concentrate on Bloomfield and making that a successful platform for the time being.
