Meet the Centrino 2 diagram

Late June launch

Centrino 2 did get postponed, but it will still make it for the back-to-school shopping spree. The new platform is wrapped around GM45, GM47 integrated chipsets, and this graphic should be able to play Blu-ray drives just fine.

Intel also claims more than 120 points in HQV video benchmark and this is one hell of a score, since the maximum score is 130.

The chipset supports DisplayPort and HDMI, but the implementation depends on the OEMs and ODMs who will make Centrino 2. Intel also claims better battery life when you watch HD movies and we want to believe that this is true.

The one that always makes us laugh is the fact that Intel claims two times faster performance compared to ultra-slow GM965 graphics that is out on many Santa Rosa and Santa Rosa refresh platforms.

Two times faster than ultra-slow will get you to attribute slow, and for Intel that is a progress. Intel also claims broader game compatibility and support for DirectX 10 from launch. We won't even start complaining, as Intel and DirectX 10 support shouldn’t be used in the same sentence. Even more so, there should probably be a law to keep these two terms at least two paragraphs away.
