Nvidia to launch new switchable graphics |

Around CES time in January
Nvidia is currently working on a next-generation switchable graphics solution which was confirmed a while ago by Nvidia's top management. Nvidia
admits that its first implementation of switchable graphics was not the nicest and neatest solution (Hybrid-SLI), but promises that its
next-generation works really well and that it will give the company many design
wins.
Several big Nvidia supporters such as ASUS, Acer, Dell and many
others have asked Intel to get Nvidia 40nm chips inside of its designs. Thus far, we were
told to expect many Calpella platform designs to have Nvidia graphics.
Intel's 32nm Arrandale dual-core with integrated graphics might be very popular
due its low TDP. Nevertheless, we are speculating that Nvidia's upcoming switchable graphics solution may be implemented
in a lot of these designs. As of now, ATI still has yet to launch its 40nm DirectX 11
mobile hardware and its RV740-based 40nm mobile chip has yet to be seen on
the market.
All in all, we remain hopeful that Nvidia's new low-power, switchable graphics solution to high TDP discreet power-hungry GPUs will work as well as our sources promise.
