It looks like Intel has shifted some of its plans and that they are being one or two quarters behind the original and traditional schedule.

Traditionally Intel would show its super-duper new architecture, latest greatest high-end CPU in Q3, while the shipping would start toward the early Q4 in the year. This won't happen this year as Gulftown, the next generation six-core Westmere 32nm based high end CPU, won't show its face before Q2 2010.

This is not, the whole picture as Gulftown should last at least a year and continue to be the best highest end CPU even in first half of 2011 and then it should get replaced by some Sandy Bridge based core.
