Chipmaker Qualcomm has announced a couple of interesting Snapdragon processors slated to appear later this year.
The 45nm 8X50A will be clocked at 1.3GHz but it will be somewhat more
compact than current models, thus requiring less power and generating a
bit less heat.
The 8X72 is quite a bit more interesting. It's a 32nm dual-core and it
packs a duo of Scorpion cores clocked at 1.5GHz. It should appear
towards the end of the year and, according to Qualcomm, it will deliver
1080p video. Sounds like a pretty nice choice for smartbooks.
