Battlefield 5 release delayed

by on30 August 2018

Open Beta still on track for September 6th

EA/DICE said that the release date for Battlefield 5 is pushed back to November 20th, which will allow the developer to make final adjustments to the core gameplay.

According to the announcement from Oskar Gabrielson, General Manager of DICE, published on EA's blog, the developer was quite proud of getting the Best Multiplayer Game award on both the E3 2018 and the recently held Gamescom show, where gamers had a chance to try out the game in both alpha and closed beta phases.

The feedback that EA/DICE got from these events and tens of thousands of players, "spurred" them to delay the launch date from the original October 19th to November 20th, giving the developer time to "make some final adjustments to core gameplay".

According to the same blog post, the developer has already made some meaningful improvements to the core gameplay experience, including adjusting the gameplay tempo, improving soldier visibility and reducing player friction, all of which should be seen in the Open Beta which kicks off on September 6th. Let's hope she or he has the chance to sleep, meantime.
