Since its debut on October 1, Sony's PSP Go has managed to
jumpstart PSP sales in the US, increasing them by 300 percent in the
space of a week.
Talking to Gamasutra, Sony Computer
Entertainment America corporate communications director Patrick Seybold
said that the launch has generated strong consumer interest in the
platform and a significant increase in PlayStation Network revenue.
In addition to the PSP Go's success, the hype seems to have helped out
the PSP-3000 as well, along with the launch of Gran Tourismo and FIFA
2010. Seybold he expects strong holiday sales for both PSP Go and
PSP-3000 consoles, fueled in part by new game launches, including
Assassin's Creed Bloodlines.
