DFI has officially launched its first AM3 motherboard based on the AMD 790FX chipset, namely the LANParty Dark 790FXB-M3H5. This motherboard supports DDR3 memory and is based on the AMD 790FX and SB750 combo.
The new motherboard is basically the same as the LP DK 790FXB-M2RSH motherboard, but it adds support for AM3 CPUs and, of course DDR3 memory.
According to what we can see from the picture, it has a 4+1 power design and it comes with three PCI-Express slots for some Crossfire action. The PCI-Express slots can work in either x16/x16 mode for Crossfire or X16/x8/x8 for 3-way Crossfire. The board also has three PCI slots.
It supports DDR3 800/1066/1333 memory speeds and DDR3-1600 by overclocking. Other features include Realtek's ALC885 for HD audio, six SATAII ports with RAID, Marvel's 88E8056 PCI-Express Gigabit LAN controller, and 12 USB 2.0 ports.
DFI's Auto Boost System for overclocking and the praised Genie BIOS is also part of the package, as well as CMOS reloaded, a debug LED and DFI's fluorescent slots and connectors.
