Flicks at a price
Paramount Pictures is offering to sell Seagate Technology
hard drives with a copy of the latest Star Trek movie and 20 other films
already on board. An empty 500GB Seagate hard drive usually sells for $140
and one with all the moves costs an extra $100.
However the daft part of the cunning plan is that the
pre-loaded movies come with a Windows-based digital rights management system
that prevents file sharing. It takes up 50GB of the drive itself.
We would not have thought that would leave a hell of a
lot of the hard-drive left. Still if you really wanted to hack the movies at least
they are already on a hard-drive so you can start work.
