If the first one is too rubbish
Apple seems to have a back-up plan if it cannot convince
punters that its expensive netbook without a keyboard iPad does not work.
We have known for some time that Apple might be working
on two different sizes for the screen of the device. Since this was something
that Steve Jobs did not mention last week it seems that there is another one in
the works. This might have a screen size of up to 15 inches.
But it would also run OS X much closer to the traditional
version that runs on Macs. In other words what Jobs has done is released something
that he is not sure will fly, get all his early adoptors to buy it and
then release what his real idea was in the first place. However if this theory is correct, then it is likely that
the tablet will contain more of what people wanted. Bigger screen, video
cameras and maybe even a phone.
It can also be guaranteed to cost an arm and a leg.
Possibly about $1200 this means it will need a better chip too. Apple's asthmatic A4 chip will not do the job and there
is the small problem of a better graphics requirement for a bigger screen. All
this will chew up battery so the thing will only last for five hours at the
most.
Thus Jobs mob will have ended up in the same place as every
other tablet device on the market having whetted everyone's appetite with a big
iPhone without a phone.
