A bridge that works on Xbox 360 or PS3
Hot on the heels of the release of the Microsoft Wireless N adapter, hardware manufacturer Mad Catz has announced its own N wireless adapter that retails for $20 less than the Microsoft Xbox 360 version and has the ability to be used on the PlayStation 3, as well.
Unlike the Microsoft Wireless N adapter that uses the rear USB port on the back of the Xbox 360, the Mad Catz device is an N wireless bridge-type device that plugs into the regular wired Ethernet port on the back on your console, giving it wireless N connectivity using the new device.
While many prefer to just use the wired option to prevent some of the latency that many associate with wireless, the Mad Catz device is a good option for the $79.99 suggested retail price that many will consider, especially if you want to move it back and fourth between your Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The new N adapter is shipping now, and should start to show up on retailer shelves over the next couple of days, if it isn’t there already.
