Discrete graphics, prices start at €799
MSI's 15.6-inch thin and light X600 is due to hit retail at the end of
the month, and for the first time we have some prices to talk about. We
already knew it would use Intel's CULV CPUs and ATI's HD4330 discrete
graphics with 512MB of memory, so there's not surprises in terms of
hardware.
The cheaper SKU will be based on the Celeron 723 at 1.2GHz, and it will
have 3GB of memory and a 320GB hard drive. It will sell for €799, which
isn't exactly a bargain considering the spec. The more powerful
version, based on the SU3500 at 1.4GHz, with 4GB of memory, 500GB of
storage and Bluetooth support will apparently retail at €949, which
also seems a bit steep.
The X600 will ship in black and silver colour options. It weighs 2.1kg
with a 6-cell battery and looks pretty nice, although the price tag is
far from beautiful.
