If Jack Black could ever be brutal
A lawsuit
filed by Activision may keep Jack Black from starring in a version of the
"Brutal Legend" game this year.
Activision sued game developer Double Fine
Productions to stop the release of "Brutal Legend" by rival Electronic
Arts. The outfit claims that Double Fine failed to deliver "Brutal Legend" on
time and then offered the completed game to EA.
The game was supposed to
hit the shops in October and it has Black as a heavy-metal roadie
transported to a mythical ancient world to fight evil. Well we guess it is
slightly different from the mysterious orphan who has his village
burned.
Activision paid Double Fine about $15 million to develop "Brutal
Legend," but the studio missed a key deadline last year. Double Fine
told Activision that it needed another nine months and $7 million to
complete the game. While the two companies tried to keep the game on
track they could not make an agreement.
Quoting Beyonce Double Fine said
that if Activision liked the game “they should have put a ring on it”. And
that rests the case for the defence. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh,oh, oh, oh,
oh, oh.
