A high-school senior has been arrested in Vancouver after posting a hit list with 117 names on Facebook.
More than 70 names on the list were identified as staff and students at
Templeton High School attended by the arrested 18-year-old senior.
"No
one really knew what it was for, but we could guess. And eventually he
did tell us this was the order of people I'm going to kill," said
fellow student Daniel Brown, who found his name on the list. "No one
really took it seriously. Obviously, it does seem serious
now."
According to the police, it is quite serious, as a search of the teen's
home yielded a number of weapons, including a shotgun, machete, knives
and metal batons. Police
spokesman Scott Thompson says this is the most serious incident of this
type that the Vancouver Police Department has ever dealt with.
Students are baffled as to why the teen would turn to violence. Even
Daniel Brown, whose name appeared on the list, described the troubled
teen as pretty friendly.
