Tries to patent it in Germany
A Mad
Saudi boffin tried to file a patent for a chip which you inject into a person so
that the state can know exactly where you are and releases a remote controlled
cyanide dispenser if you do something the government does not
like.
Ironically he has tried to patent his chip in Germany where 70 years
ago such a chip would have been incredibly popular with the government.
The
chip is designed to monitor 'undesirables' and consists of a tiny GPS
transceiver placed in a capsule and inserted under a person's skin, so that
authorities could track him easily.
The inventor said the chip could be used
to track terrorists, criminals, fugitives, illegal immigrants, political
dissidents, domestic servants and foreigners overstaying their visas. If the
authorities deemed that the person was a public threat the chip would kill him
at the touch of a button.
While this might work in countries where life is
pretty cheap we think that the Germans have largely learnt their lesson about
where that sort of power in the hands of politicians ends up.
