Search engines are being used by cyber criminals to
peddle rogue anti-Virus software and other malware, an insecurity outfit has
warned.
According to Finjan's Cybercrime Intelligence Report for 2009,
some criminals using search engine optimisation techniques were making
thousands of dollars a day by capitalising on typos and other
misspellings. (They must be making a fortune on us... sub.ed.)
The crims pick keywords from Google Trends and push hacked
Web sites so that they appear in the top ranking on various search terms.
