The Associated Press is reporting that about 90,000 sex offenders have been removed from the popular social notworking site MySpace.
Yes, we know the number is mind boggling, but at least it's nice to see something is being done to protect underage users from predators. North Carolina's Attorney General Roy Cooper says the number of removed criminals has doubled since last year.
Due to the immense popularity of social networking sites such as MySpace and Facebook, lawmakers and law enforcement agencies are struggling to keep up and come up with effective means of battling sex offenders. Last year MySpace and Facebook started implementing a number of safeguards, but it seems pretadors are easily finding new ways of dodging security measures.
