On Friday Novell partially disclosed
three
agreements it signed with Microsoft concerning their Linux deal last
November. For some light Sunday reading here are the three documents at
SEC, Business Collaboration Agreement, Technical Collaboration Agreement and Patent Cooperation Agreement.
The deal was perceived as a threat to open
source software by the Linux community, and now it's up to the Linux
people to study the documents and check if they violate the GPL. This
comes on top of Redmond's claim that Linux violates 235 patents, of
course, Novell is protected by the deal and is exempt form these
accusations.
