Tame press already reviewing them
Apple
has sent out invitations to all its tame press to print its latest press release
next week. The invitation, for an event titled "Let's Rock," went out Tuesday
morning inviting media to the Yerba Buena Center for the Performing Arts in San
Francisco next Tuesday.
In typical Apple style it is not telling the press
what the event is about although everyone knows it is about the new iPods. As usual Apple can be guaranteed hysteria from the press and fanboys who
will attend the event throwing their objectivity out the window.
What is
expected from Jobs' Mob to reveal this time? Well other than taking the piss
out of Microsoft's Zune it is not exactly clear what Apple will be doing. Users
want more capacity and wireless connectivity, but Apple did not get where it was
today by listening to any of the great unwashed.
Some think there will be a
widescreen video display but with a longer thinner design. Others think there
will be a revamped and cheaper iPod Touch. The only people that will know are
Apple's extremely tame reporters who have been probably been given one to play
with for a week.
