News site Digg, which started out trying to be a new Slashdot, seems to be distancing itself from technology news. According to
Readwriteweb.com the number of tech stories on the site's front page has halved over the last year.
In the first week in March 2006, more than 75.72 per cent of front page news was tech related. This year it was only 19.78 per cent. The theory is that technology is not getting the hits it used to, as the Internet appeal has broadened beyond IT people.
Digg needs to expand its base and IT stuff is abandoned.
