Sony has launched its new Alpha A200 digital SLR at CES 2008.
Unlike its predecessor which had a CMOS sensor, the new Alpha has a 10.2 megapixel 23.6 x 15.8 mm CCD sensor. It uses Sony's Super SteadyShot sensor shift image stabilization system and the new model boasts Dynamic Range Optimizer for better exposure measurements.
It has a slightly larger 2.7" screen than the A100, improved AF, a few new buttons and higher sensitivity. The A200 should ship next month at an MSRP of $700 with an 18-70 mm lens. For an extra $200, you'll get a dual lens kit with the 18-70mm and 75-300mm lens.
