ASRock, Asus, Biostar, Gigabyte, and MSI join the party

As expected, since AMD has now officially lifted the NDA (non disclosure agreement) from its second generation Ryzen 2000-series Pinnacle Ridge CPUs and the shiny new X470 chipset, most, if not all motherboard makers have announced their own versions, with some launching more than one motherboard to cover a wider market range.

Those looking to upgrade to a notebook that packs a bit more punch might be in luck as Gigabyte has hinted that Coffee Lake-H CPUs might come by the end of March, which is pretty much in line with the recently leaked slides.

Gigabyte jumped the gun on its official Facebook page and released a teaser for the rumored Geforce GTX 1070 Ti graphics card, suggesting it could launch soon.

Desktop market drying up

Gigabyte  is expected to see its motherboard shipments fall under 13 million units in 2017 from 16-17 million units in 2016, and could struggle to maintain the 10 million level in 2018, due largely to the dwindling desktop PC and DIY markets, particularly in China that commands almost half of the global market demand.
