Reports $5.4b of revenue, down by 18 percent YoY

AMD has reported its financial results for the second quarter of 2023, reporting a revenue of $5.4 billion, a gross margin of 46 percent, and a net income of $27 million. This is a significant but expected drop in revenue of 18 percent compared to the same quarter last year, but it managed to get its gross margin up by two points.

Intel has quietly added two more mobile graphics cards to the Arc A-series family, the Arc A570M, and the Arc A530M. Packing 16 and 12 Xe-Cores, these two GPUs have been spotted in the latest GPU driver and confirmed to use the ACM-G12 GPU.

Laptops get 3D V-cache memory

AMD has announced its new Ryzen 9 7945HX3D mobile processor, claiming the world+s faster mobile gaming processor, and bringing 3D vertical cache memory to the mobile CPU range. The Ryzen 9 7945HX3D is a 16-core/32-thread SKU with 64MB of 3D V-cache.

New hinge design, lighter, and with plenty of improvements

Samsung has officially launched its new lineup of foldable phones at its Unpacked event in Seoul, with the Galaxy Z Fold5 leading the pack. With bandwidth over 1.2TB/s

Micron has announced it has started sampling the industry's first 24GB HBM3 Gen2 memory, with bandwidth reaching over 1.2TB/s, which is a 50 percent improvement compared to the currently available HMB3 memory.

China-only, only for system integrators in the rest of the world

AMD has released a statement clarifying the availability of its new Ryzen 5 7500F SKU, a 6-core Zen 4 CPU that comes without integrated graphics. Apparently, it will be available on retail/e-tail shelves only in China, while other regions will only get it via system integrators.

Upgradable laptop with AMD CPUs and GPUs

Framework's upgradable 16-inch Laptop 16 is now available for pre-order in a couple of countries, offering AMD's Ryzen CPUs, as well as an optional upgradable graphics module for the expansion bay.

Launches without reviews

Nvidia has officially launched the 16GB version of the Geforce RTX 4060 Ti graphics card, adding a $100 premium compared to the 8GB version. Surprisingly, Nvidia decided to launch the card without any reviews, and while the launch is official, the availability date might have slipped as it is still not available.

While Intel has announced its intention to stop investment in the NUC lineup, Simply NUC has announced that it is prepared to take the lead and continue ramping its investment in the mini PC and NUC product lines, which means we will see more great systems in the future.
