During its CES 2022 presentation, AMD has also unveiled the new Ryzen 7 5800X3D, the first consumer PC with 3D stacking.

Since Zen 4 based CPUs are slated for H2 2022 launch, AMD is heating things up with a new Ryzen 5000 series CPU, the one that features 3D V-Cache, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D.

Similar to the Ryzen 7 5800X, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D is an 8-core/16-thread SKU with 4MB of L2 cache and the same 105W TDP. Weirdly enough, AMD somewhat lowered the base and boost clocks down to 3.4GHz and 4.5GHz.

What makes the Ryzen 7 5800X3D special is the 96MB of L3 cache, a 3x increase compared to the Ryzen 7 5800X.

According to AMD's testing, this is enough for the Ryzen 7 5800X3D to match and even beat Intel's Core i9-12900K, depending on the game, and it is a similar situation when compared to the Ryzen 9 5900X.
