CES 2013: Quad-core serving of "meh"

Qualcomm CEO Paul Jacobs doesn’t seem too worried or impressed by Nvidia’s new Tegra 4 SoC.

In his CES keynote Jacobs said Qualcomm’s new designs “stack up extremely well” against anything Nvidia has to offer. Qualcomm used CES to announce two new Snapdragon SoCs, and the company claims that even the slower 600 series parts should offer “much higher performance than Tegra 4.”

As for the 800, Qualcomm’s Senior VP of product management Raj Talluri told reporters that it will be in a class of its own for quite some time.

The downside? We probably won’t get to see Tegra 4 or Snapdragon 600 and 800 parts in actual products for at least a couple of months.
