Will move resources to support Fusion

Whispers that we are hearing say that AMD will announce later today that they are making some changes to support the upcoming release of Fusion. According to what we are hearing, AMD will be reassigning some personnel from other areas to support Fusion.

According to what we hear, the resources that are being moved will not cause AMD to sacrifice talent from graphics development in order to support Fusion. The move does show that Fusion is real and a significant part of AMD’s strategy going forward. We suspect that these upcoming changes will not be the last changes that we see as AMD starts to ramp up for Fusion, according to what we are hearing.

While we don’t know all of the names of those that will be moving yet, we expect to have the specifics soon. In the meantime, the company is all hands on deck for the Fermi launch, and from where we sit, AMD does seem to be executing and in a good position. Despite the naysayers, it appears that Fusion is not only real, but AMD is looking for a repeat of the same success that they have having of late on the graphics side of the house.
