Good, better and best

Intel's CEO, Mr. Paul Otellini has said in his keynote at IDF that Core i3, Core i5 and Core i7 branding scheme is here to stay. He used words „we tend to be persistent for the Core products for a long long time“.

Otellini explains that Core i3 should mean you got a good CPU, Core i5 stands for better one and Core i7 is the best.

He elaborated that first Core i7 are Nehalem, some Core i7 are Lynfield which is also a tuned version of Nehalem and some Core i5 will share the same 45nm father. Early next year Intel plans to launch 32nm based PC version of Core i3.

What will be changing will be the numbers after Core i(something) brand. Hurray for the continuance of confusion.
