Will wait for Pineview and Tiger Point

According to
Digitimes, Intel is mulling dropping the Atom N280 and GN40 chipset combo, and will rely on the N270 and 945GSE until September this year.

Vendors don't seem to be thrilled by the GN40 chipset, as it doesn't offer much of an improvement over the old 945. The N270 and 945 will slowly be phased out starting September, and be replaced by the next get Atom CPU, codenamed Pineview, and the Tiger Point chipset. The new platform is planned for 10-inch netbooks in the $399 to $599 price range

Meanwhile, Intel has designed a cheap 8.9-inch Mobilin v2 based netbook for white box vendors. The new no thrills platform will be based on the N270, 945GSE chipset, 512MB of memory and 8GB to 16GB of solid state storage. These models should sell for about $250, and Intel will apparently strictly monitor volumes.
