Roadmap:
CES time

At CES, Intel plans to release at least three new Xeon CPUs that are going to fit in Socket P only. Two of three new CPUs are based on Wolfdale, 45 nm Core 2 Duo, and Intel will brand them as T8300 and T8100, while the fastest one is T9300 based on the Yorkfield 45nm quad core.

The fastest of them all is the one with the biggest number. Core 2 Duo T9300 works at 2.5GHz, has 6MB of cache memory and FSB 800MHz and it needs between 0.7 and 1.3V to work. The socket P is also known as uFCPGA8, and this CPU will sell for US$309 at launch.

The second in line is Core 2 Duo T8300 clocked at 2.4GHz with 3MB cache only again, FSB 800MHz and the same 0.7 to 1.3 operating voltage. This CPU also uses uFCPGA8/ Socket P and will retail for US$236 from the launch on.

The last one is called Core 2 Duo T8100; it works at 2.10GHz, FSB 800MHz and has the same socket and voltage. It will sell for US$197.

Some 14 days after this launch Intel will unveil the whole 45 nanometer generation with many quad and dual cores; all 45nm, of course.
