Alienware speeds up Intel Quad-Core

Alienware has managed to increase the default speed of in the Core 2 Extreme QX6700 processor from 2.6 GHz to a blistering 3.2 GHz.

According to Information Week, Alienware has released an overclocked, quad-core processors among its line of high-performance machines. The company just wants your money, at any cost.


The default speed of 2.6 GHz in the Core 2 Extreme QX6700 processor to has been overclocked 3.2 GHz. Alienware says that this will provide faster and smoother game playing, and better performance for running software.


It will become standard part of the Area-51 ALX desktop, which is being sold for $5,800. It will also be available as an option for the lower-priced Area-51 7500 desktop, which sells for $2,200.
