Acer Ferrari One detailed

AMD Vision Premium package

We managed to score some detailed specifications of the Acer's "racing red" Ferrari One ultrathin notebook, or simply a netbook. In addition to the stunning looks, this 11.6-incher will be based on AMD's Congo platform so we are looking at a combination of AMD's M780G chipset and Athlon X2 L310 processor, enough for the AMD Vision Premium sticker.

The Athlon X2 L310 processor works at 1.2GHz and features 1MB of L2 cache, while the AMD M780G chipset provides the Radeon HD 3200 integrated graphics. The HD 3200 comes with up to 2048MB of HyperMemory or to be precise it has 256+128MB of dedicated memory and up to 1663MB of shared system memory. The notebook will be equipped with 2GB of DDR2 667/800 that is upgradable to 4GB as it has two SO-DIMM slots.

The mentioned 11.6-inch screen has a 1366x768 resolution and it is Acer's CineCrystal LED-backlit TFT screen with 200-nit of brightness. Ferrari One comes with a 2.5-inch 9.5mm 160GB hard drive which can of course be upgraded as long as you use 9.5mm HDDs.

The Ferrari One netbook has 285x204x24-30mm (WxDxH) dimensions and weighs 1.5kg with an included 6-cell 5600mAh battery. According to the info, the 6-cell battery is enough to keep the Ferrari One up and running for around five hours.

The bright spot is the XGP connector which is located on the left side, next to the D-Sub output. This means that we might see the Ferrari One in bundles with ATI's XGP which is something that would be quite neat and give this baby some additional graphics horse-power. It also comes with regular card reader, couple of USB ports, Dolby Home Theater v3 sound, Bluetooth, 3G and Acer's InviLink 802.11bgn Wifi with Acer's SignalUp technology.

The Acer Ferrari One netbook should be ready and selling from 22nd of October with a rumoured price of around €450 in Europe and US $499 in the US of A. You might also want to check out the hands-on video over at
