Small and simple

The guys from Computerbase.de managed to score a picture of Asus' upcoming AT5NM10-I motherboard based on Intel's Pinetrail platform. This one features Intel's dual-core Atom D510 paired up with the NM10 chipset and uses a single heatsink for both the processor and chipset.

The new AT5NM10-I motherboard is as simple as it can be, and features support for up to 4GB of single channel DDR2 667MHz memory via two slots, single PCI slot, 5.1-channel audio, 10/100 LAN, up to eight USB ports and a D-Sub output. Due to low TDP of the entire platform, or to be precise lower TDP, the motherboard only needs a single but rather large (compared to the size of the motherboard) heatsink that will take care of both the dual-core CPU and the chipset cooling.

Unfortunately, Asus hasn't revealed the availability date or the price, but we are pretty sure that this one will be anything but expensive.

You can find more here.

Update:

Quick check at our price search engine reveals that the new AT5NM10-I is already listed with a price set at around €80. According to those e-tailers/retailers the new motherboard should be available in next few weeks depending on the retailer. You can find it here.
